Fri. 24th July. Outdoor Theatre ‘Romeo and Juliet’ with Kim Plaskett. Oddsocks return with their new take on this well-loved classic, finding laughs and pathos in the most dramatic of tragedies. 7pm. in the Craft Village in Markeaton Park, DE22 4NH. Bring a chair and warm clothes. Tickets cost £18.

Meet from 1pm, and bring a chair to watch the amazing and hysterical Derbyshire spectacle of hens pecking their way along a 30ft course. Street food, music and good beer. 14-16th Aug. Lytham 1940’s and Blackpool Private Coach Tour with Freda. 3 days DBB at a hotel in Blackpool. £189 sharing , no singles left. Bring your 1940’s gear – land army, military, civilian – use your imagination! Scour the charity shops and Amazon for ideas. If you still draw a blank, no worries, come as you are. As well as the Lytham period parades, food stalls, live music and dancing, I’m organising a trip to Fleetwood Market, plus compiling details of what not to miss in Blackpool – Pier Shows, cheap tram tickets, Tower Ballroom.
